Floating Paperclips!

This week we have been doing some experiments in science. Our experiment today was about making a paperclip float, but before we did that we needed a few materials to do this. Here are the materials we needed.

Materials:
Clean dry paper clips
Tissue paper
A bowl of water/or beaker if you have one
Pencil

How to do the science experiment:
After you have all the materials you need, you have to get a bowl of water.
Put in the tissue paper (don't make it too big.)
Next put the paper clip on top of the tissue.
Lastly get your pencil and press down the tissue and watch your paperclip float!

How does it float? There is a word called surface tension. It means that there is like a sort of skin on the surface of the water. It doesn't really float it is actually being held by the surface tension.
I hope you enjoy and I hope you learned something. I also have a question, what items do you will float?
