Word Art | (Lockdown Version)! |

At Wananga, we were once again looking at what we have done during the lockdown and putting them on the word art. This is the last piece of work that we have to do that relates to our lockdown experience. The words that I have put in here are things that I have done during the lockdown, I have done a lot during the lockdown and it gave us more time to spend time with our Whanau. It also gave me more time to do the things that I like, such as watching anime/movies playing games and working out. Anyways here is the word-art that I have made.

Wananga Task | Proper Emailing Practice |

For this week on Wananga, we were tasked to send emails to our teacher and to our parents. We learned how to write a proper email and the pars that are needed to make it formal. We have heard that our emails have not been that good. That is why we are learning how to write a proper email to our teacher and to our parents. There are different parts of writing an email, there is the greeting, the check-in, the body, and the salutation. I think that I have done a good job during emailing, but I also think that I should continue practicing to get even better at it.

The prince of the elf king was captured by some soldiers of the elf king, the prince didn't want to see his father. The elf king was not surprised to see his son fail him again. The prince was ordered to work with another person, his name was luger. Although the prince wanted to work alone they were tasked to find the children's location.

The children were in the house, a young boy named Navin was practicing on piloting the house, Cogsley was assisting him. Theodore a machine was delivering food to Emily, Emily was Navin's brother. Emily was with her mother who is laying in bed because she was poisoned. Theodore let Emily knew that they were arriving at Kanalis shortly.

They were going to Kanalis for a doctor who can hopefully be able to heal their mom, suddenly Emily's necklace which was the amulet began to glow and talk, the amulet said.
"They're coming."
"Who is?" Emily said.
The amulet explained that they should have killed the elf prince when they had a chance and that they will not stop at nothing to kill you, you must prepare for battle. Then the amulet stopped working.
They finally arrived at Kanalis, but the elves were already there as well. Miskit who was a bunny told the others that the citizens there might look quite different.

Wednesday

Amulet: Book 2
Author: Kazu Kibuishi

A talking pig welcomed Emily and her crew to Kanalis, I was a bit confused about why the people had an appearance of animals. But Miskit then explained what gave them the appearance of animals, the cause of this is was because of an ancient curse.
An elf was who was hiding who was also talking to his amulet, I think that their amulet can also be used to the other elves who have the same the amulet.

Monday & Wednesday

Amulet: Book 2

Emily and the others were looking for the hospital when they suddenly encountered a bounty-hunter which was a fox. They ignored him and continued to find the hospital when they finally found the hospital, the doctor which was also an animal, checked the patient which was Emily's mother. The doctor explained that she was poisoned by an arachnopods which are highly toxic. The only medicine that can help is a fruit.

Monday

Amulet: Book 2
Author: Kazu Kibuishi

Doctor Weston explained that the fruit of the Gadoba Tree can fight the venom and cure her, he also said that even the elves won't go there and when they did they haven't returned. But Emily still wanted to go, her goal was to get her family home and safe. Then suddenly the bounty-hunter which was actually not a bounty-hunter appeared. He introduced himself to Emily as Leon Redbeard, I really like this character because he is smart and mysterious.

Hello and Goodbye Poem | (Lockdown Version!) |

This term for our first blogpost while working at school, we had to make a hello and goodbye poem about the lockdown. It was basically saying hello to the new stuff that is happening and saying goodbye to what happened during the lockdown. I found it really fun making this hello and goodbye poem and it was also really cool because people can also know what you did during the lockdown. I really didn't do that much during the lockdown, anyways here is the poem that I did.

Hello and Goodbye Poem
(Lockdown): Vann

Hello to waking up early in the morning to get ready to go to school.
Goodbye to waking up late and playing games on my phone.

Hello to walking in the fresh and cold air.
Goodbye to laying on the couch eating while doing work.

Hello to being able to chat with friends in person.
Goodbye to talking to them by a video call.

Hello to sleeping early to be full of energy when I go to school.
Goodbye to sleeping late watching Netflix.

Hello to learning at school.
Goodbye to doing work at home.

Hello to the new ordinary.
Goodbye to lockdown.

Where the Black Death Fits in History!

On the last term of chemicals and chaos, we had to study different chaotic events that happened throughout the years. There were a lot of different events to choose from, such as the 9/11 attack, the Alaskan tsunami and etc. But this time we are going to be learning about the "Black Death" also known as the Black Plague. First, what is the black death? The Black Death is known to be the most fatal pandemic recorded in human history, ending in the deaths of up to 75–200 million people.

Anyways for this chaos task, we had to first answer what the difference of an epidemic and a plague was. So what is an epidemic and a pandemics?

  • Epidemic: A widespread occurrence of infections in a community at a particular time.
  • Pandemic: An epidemic that’s spread over multiple countries or continents.
The difference is that the epidemic is a disease that affects a huge number of people within a town, community, or country. Which pandemics are just an epidemic that has expanded over many countries/continents.

For our second task is to make a timeline about the Black Death and where it fits in history, as well as other events that happened. Here is the timeline that I made.

The History of Basketball!

For our P.E. Week 1 work, we had to choose a game that interests us and then write the history of it. So I chose to write about basketball since it is a sport that interests me and I haven't really read anything about the history of basketball, so it would be nice to read some facts about it and share the information that I have found. Anyways I made a slideshow to present my work, it includes some changes throughout the game, a famous player and when it first started. Here is the slideshow.
