Aim: To produce an electrical current using lemons
Equipment:
- Lemon
- Copper electrode
- Zinc electrode
- Copper wire
- Voltmeter
Steps:
- Roll the lemon to release the juices inside.
- Insert the copper about halfway through the lemon.
- Do the same for the zinc.
- Connect the wires into the voltmeter.
- Then connect the wires into the copper and zinc plate.
Findings:
1 lemon = 1 volt
2 lemons = 1.8 volt
3 lemons = 2 volts
We also found that the volts can also change depending on where you place the copper and zinc plates onto the lemon.
Hello Vann, I really like the experiment that you did in science. I like how you wrote the 3 result for your findings it really show me that your experiment work. What happen if you connect 4 lemons together will the volts still increase or decrease?, By the way you did a great job.
