SLJ: Lesson 3

The task for this SLJ lesson is. You and your family decide to go out and visit a local market. When you’re there you meet a student who tells you all about what it’s like to go to school in their country. The student also gives you a page from their diary that shows you what a typical school day is like for them.

So the first thing I searched was what it is like to go to school in Mexico. I harvested lots of information, and I found out that the schools in Mexico start at 7:30 am and then end the day at 5:00 pm. Although I also found out that Mexico doesn't have the strongest public schooling available. Children can start school in preschool when they are about 3 years old. Students from grades 1 to 12 can go to school free but you must purchase your own equipment.

This is all I found out about the schools in Mexico, I hope you enjoyed.

Humans vs Ghouls

For the last few weeks, we were working on narrative stories. My topic was about Humans vs Ghouls. I wrote about a person named Kaneki which was the main character, I took inspiration from an anime called "Tokyo Ghoul." Anyways Kaneki was just a normal citizen, but that all changed. I won't tell any more spoilers but I hope you enjoy the story. I might also make a second season of the story, but I'm not that sure about it.

Humans vs Ghouls

Chapter One: The Dare...

A bell rang as we entered the shop, It smelt astonishing with the essence of coffee. “Hey let’s go sit in that table!” Said Hide in an excited voice, we sat down and discussed things. He started talking about pretty boring stuff, like some opportunities at school. Suddenly he invited me to play a game. I got curious about what game we were going to play. How about we play “truth or dare..?” We played a couple rounds of paper, scissors, and rock to see who will lose. He was undefeated, I have always won when we play this game, it was odd. Hide moved closer to me and whispered to my ears… “I dare you to, follow a random person who leaves the cafe..” I was puzzled on why he wanted me to follow a random person, but it seemed like he had a plan…

Someone named Touka came up to us and gave us our order, I took a sip of the coffee. When suddenly someone was about to leave the cafe, “Hurry, Kaneki!”. I swiftly stood up to my chair and followed the person and noticed she was a woman. She left the shop, liquid from the sky started to fall to the ground. It started to rain, I was lucky that I had my umbrella. I kept following her she was heading to a pitch-black space.  It was near the construction site, I felt a bit nervous. “I should’ve not listened to Hide and follow someone else...” But she kept walking and closer and closer to the construction site, unexpectedly she stopped…

“Who are you…?” She said in a deep voice, I got horrified on what might happen to me. I already knew I was in big trouble. She went up to me, I felt pain on my shoulders. I checked my eyes widened as blood was pouring out of my shoulders, “What are you doing?!”, I shouted. I felt a bit nausea. I saw her with tentacles-like on her back but with only four, swiftly she stabbed me in the chest “Die!!“ “No, please stop it…”, I cried. “I won’t be able to survive for any longer,” she said. That was all I remembered from that day…

Chapter Two:  A Monster...

I woke up, and my left eye was in pain. I stood up from a comfy bed, I walked around. I saw a mirror and I saw myself, my eye was black and had red cracks. “What happened..?” I remembered the unfortunate time when I almost could have died. “Am I dead?” I whispered to myself. As I walked someone was knocking on the door, I opened and an old person was holding two coffee. I let him in and we sat down, he looked familiar to me but I just couldn't remember. We talked and he explained why I was here, finally I remembered that he was the owner of the coffee shop. “You can stay here anytime you want to.”, he said. He left the room, I took a sip of the coffee. It tasted was wonderful, it was the best coffee I have ever tasted. My cup of coffee was finished, I went downstairs to see if I could get another cup. As I walked down there were other rooms, they had names of the people living inside. When I got down, the place was empty. No customers… I walked up to the owner, “Why is the place empty, It’s morning?”

“The shop hasn’t opened yet..” he smiled.

He gave me another cup of coffee, I asked him how he makes his coffee so delightful. He showed me how he made coffee, it looked complicated. “How about you try to make one for yourself?”. I began making me one, every single time I get something wrong he guides me through it. Meanwhile, I finally got it. He tested the coffee, “It might be even better than mine!” He said. I felt proud, and I got hired to work as a barista…

I was walking home alone when suddenly I heard people screaming. I sneaked to the corner and took a peek, I saw a guy killing innocent citizens. I was frightened, I only took a glance who he was, he had yellowish hair and had glasses. Just then he killed the people and I shouted: “Who are you?!” He didn’t talk, just then I felt a strong sharp object go through my back. It was a feeling like before. He raised me up while I spat out blood. I felt my eyes turning and getting painful. His eyes, they were black with red cracks. It was the same eye I saw in the mirror.

I struggled my way out of the unknown weapon he’s using, I was infuriated my vision changed on my left eye. My back was rumbling with movement, something wasn’t right. I have turned to something horrible. A ghoul…

Chapter 3: The Solution...

A new day has begun and the start of our school was opened for another year before it gets rebuilt. I ran to school with an eyepatch on my left eye, I used it to cover my eye. Just when I entered I heard someone yelling my name. “KANEKI!!”. He went behind on my back and hugged me, “Where were you?” He asked. I lied to him by saying that I went back home because I felt sick. He asked me why I have an eyepatch on my left eye, “It just randomly got painful, I’m not sure why… I couldn't let my best friend know what I have turned into.

We walked into the office to ask if there are another opportunities for a play this year. Just when I was about to knock on the door, Hide suddenly busted his way in without knocking. “Hey, Manners!” He shouted he looked familiar to me. “Hi Mr Yomo, I am Hide and this is my friend Kaneki…” His eyes widened, “Nice to meet you Kaneki…” I moved closer to Hide and whispered: “How do you know him?” “Hey! There are still a few more hours before school starts, let’s go eat somewhere.” He suggested, “Let’s go Kaneki!” Before I could get away Hide grabbed my hand and followed the student council. He headed to a shop for food, then he kicked Hide right in the stomach and knocked him unconscious. “HIDE!!” I shouted I threw the food that he gave me and ran after Hide. Yomo walked slowly near me, “What have you done?” Just then a person came, it was the person who gave us our order. Touka...

A few hours later…

I was saved, and Hide was getting healed in the hospital, I was home feeling exhausted and starving. I rapidly went to my fridge and grabbed something to eat, I saw a cake so I grabbed a slice. I took a bite, but I swiftly spit it out. It tasted like ash for some reason. I took another bite, it tasted like ash once again I tried to consume it but I couldn't handle the taste. I felt like I was not human, I grabbed a burger from the fridge and ate a piece. I couldn’t understand it… Everything I ate tasted like ash, I got more frightened, more frightening than a demon stealing your soul. However, I felt like that I was the demon, a monster. The coffee shop, I need to go to the coffee shop. It was the only source of food I can only drink since when the incident happened. I hurried to the coffee shop, craving for food and help. When I got to the coffee shop and I quickly asked the owner why everything I ate tasted like ash.

The look on his face, it looked like he knew something. “Stay here…”, he came back holding a something that smelt like I can eat. He took out the wrapping, and it looked like food. He gave it to me and I took a bite. For some reason, it tasted pretty good. The owner of the shop took a glance of me. He knew something, I wasn’t sure what he was thinking about… “Come back here tomorrow, I must explain something…”

End Of Season...

SLJ Lesson 2: The book review

Image result for nimonaThis is a blogpost about the second lesson of the summer learning journey. As you might remember we had to choose a country that we would like to visit, now we are going to visit it. Although there is a problem, I took Curious Kiwi to be my company on the journey. Unfortunately, Curious Kiwi forgot his book and now he is worried that he'll get bored during the long flight without anything to read. I now have to suggest a book to him that I have read and enjoyed. The book I chose is a book called "NIMONA"

The author of this book is Noelle Stevenson. I have only started this book and I was already shocked by how good the story was. It was not only the story that I enjoyed it was also because it was more of a comic. I don't really like books with just words with them because it makes the book a bit boring, a comic book has a story that has pictures which makes it more creative. There wasn't a part of the story that I have not enjoyed yet, but there might be some parts that I won't enjoy.

Anyways here is a bit of the story:

Characters: Nimona, Lord Ballister Blackheart, Sir Ambrosius Goldenloin, The Director, and Dr. Meredith Blitzmeyer. Here is a link to a website that has more information about the characters: Gingerhaze

Events: Nimona was a fan of a villain named "Lord Ballister Blackheart," Nimona wanted to be Blackheart's sidekick. So Nimona faked that agency sent her to be blackheart's sidekick. Nimona was declined by Blackheart, but Nimona showed her powers as a shapeshifter. It means that she can transform into anything she wants.

That is a peek of the story but I really recommend you reading this story because I really enjoyed it and I thing that you will too.

My Reflection On Cybersmart

During cybersmart, I have learnt lots of things I have not even known before. But going back on the first term of cybersmart, we learned about "Smart Learner." The second term was "Smart Footprint," then "Smart Relationships." Now the last one is "Smart User.." Here is my reflection on this four sections of cybersmart.

Term 1 - Smart Learner:

I enjoyed it when there was a lot of lessons we can do, and it had very fun activities too.  I really didn't enjoy anything because it had fun lessons with some activities.

Term 2 - Smart Footprint:

In this term, we had to find out how we can get information about somebody. We also had to go deeper to keeping your personal information private.

Term 3 - Smart Relationships:

This time we were learning how we can have a positive conversation online, and making a comment better. like thoughtful, helpful, and something positive.

Term 4 - Smart User: Now the last term, we are not really doing that much except just covering about, the summer learning journey.

My favourite thing in cybersmart this year was when we had to get a group and find out why we are losing interest in our blogs, and how we can get more people interested in our blogs.
I would really like it if cybersmart had a little more fun activities so we don't just make blogpost on what we did learn in cybersmart.

Passion Projects Update 3

Today the 29th of November we were very busy. In fact, we were busier than bees (not quite). Anyways, we have been making all the products that we have made at the last few weeks of passion projects. We made all of the products because next week it's time to present what we have made. So today is the last day of making day, that means we can't make anymore food in passion projects. Today was very tiring, Although I was quite proud because that we finished on time and also cleaned our mess on time. All of us worked really hard and we all tried to make the best dish we have made. I actually thought that we were going to do worst because of the time we had. But we managed to do very well, our plan was working perfectly. However some of the dishes we made was a bit of a fail. It wasn't really a big fail, It was just that some of the dishes dind't really worked with mango and we also made a mango shake which was too watery. It turned watery because we didn't have crushed ice to put on the shake.

Anyways the dishes that we made were, a mango version of panna cotta, cheese sticks with cheese on top, synonym rolls with some mango puree and mango fruit and last of all the new mango shake. We couldn't perfected the mango shake because it was the last day of making. If we had more days of making, we could have made the mango shake better and that's all. This is still not the end... We still have to somehow present what we have made and present it infront of other people. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and I hope you have a great time!

Science Road Show!

On Wednesday, 28th of November which is today. The year 7s of HHS all went science road show, some of the year 10s also helped the program. There was a lot of different activities to mess around with. Not only that but they also opened our brains by teaching us knowledge that we might haven't even known before. The first thing they talked to us about, was about temperature which is hot and cold. They explained that lowering temperatures slow down the movement of the particles and molecules. Also, they told us that there is a limit on what the maximum coldness is. (273Co). Now, moving on the heat. Which is the opposite will occur instead of slowing the molecules down, heat makes them speed up. Although there is no maximum temperature of how hot it could get.

After the demos that they presented, we were finally allowed to explore and discover by doing experiments that were arranged throughout the room. There were so many activities to choose from that I had a hard time to choose a single activity. So I went with my friends which were Axle, Lars and Ranit. We had a few minutes to try out some of the experiments, then we had to go back because they had another presentation to talk about. It was about "Am I Alive?" There were different topics, nutrition and other stuff. They explained how we move our arm if you're asking how we move our arm. It's all thanks to our biceps and triceps. These two muscles work together to make movement. After that, they needed three volunteers. The person who was running the presentation chose three different students, and for some reason, those three students were all from my class. The first volunteer had to take a deep breath and blow it into a tube to see how much air there is in his lungs. The second volunteer had to be dressed up like a caveman and had to be blindfolded. He had to raise up one hand randomly, the person who was running the program placed two trays with different types of food. The other had nice food and fruits, while the other had skulls and eyeballs. He raised up a hand and he luckily got the good tray. It kept going until it was the last volunteer's time. The programmer guessed what height will the volunteer will be when he turns to be an adult.

But anyways that was all and I had a great time during the Science Road Show and I hope there will be another one next year. I hope you have a great time.

Passion Projects Update [2]

Today the 26th of November, on passion projects. We finally perfected the sweetness of the panna cotta, as you remember last time we made the panna cotta it was a bit too sweet. Although today it wasn't that sweet. However, what we need to do next time os just to make all of what we have so far in the days that we have been doing in passion projects. Which includes "synonym rolls", "cheese sticks", "panna cotta", and the last one is a "mango shake". We are not going to make the pandesal anymore because it uses too much time for Thursday and it doesn't look appetizing by itself, and on Thursday it's is the last day of making. We might still put some changes at some of the food, for example, putting mango puree on the panna cotta. It had been a busy adventure so far and it was a very fun journey working with my group. We all have learned so much from this experience. But anyways this is the passion projects update for today...

SLJ: Summer Learning Journey

Image result for basketball
Hey Emma,
My name is Vann and I am from Hornby High School, I really like maths, reading, writing, science and also cybersmart. I like playing with my brothers, especially playing basketball and badminton. Next year I will be a year 8, I also enjoy hiking with my family, when the weather is not so good I will usually play games and watch movies during the weekends. Between the weekends I will try to work really hard to win the Summer Learning Journey and get some really cool prizes.

Image result for mountains cartoonIf I win, I want to get the drone so I when we are out hiking somewhere in the mountains, I can use the drone to get a good view around the mountains. If I didn't get a drone I would rather get a headphone instead of the drone. If didn't win headphones I will get the Chromebook, so whenever my Chromebook is broken I have a spare one. But anyways I hope I can still get any of the prizes.

Barney Juice...

Last week on science we learned about pH scales. But today we are going to make a purple cabbage indicator that will test the acidity or alkalinity of white vinegar and washing powder. The indicator is neutral and has a pH scale of 7. I was grouped up with Lars and Blake, we worked pretty well during the experiment.

This is the procedure of the experiment:

  • 1 Peel off three or four big cabbage leaves and put them in a blender filled half full with water. Blend the mixture on high until you have purple cabbage juice.
  • 2 Pour the purplish cabbage liquid through a strainer to filter out all of the big chunks of cabbage. Save the liquid for the experiments to follow.
  • 3 Set out three beakers, side by side. Fill each glass three-quarters full with cabbage juice.
  • 4 Add a little vinegar to the first beaker of cabbage juice. Stir with stirring rod and watch the colour change.
  • 5 In the second beaker, add a little laundry detergent and stir.
  • 6 Take a photo of your 3 beakers side by side.
There was also a couple of questions before we did the experiment, and here are my answers.

What colour do you think white vinegar will turn the purple cabbage indicator?

I think that it the purple cabbage will turn into a colour red. Or close to red.

Why do you think this? Because the vinegar will take the colour purple and lighten the colour and the vinegar are acidic.

What colour do you think the washing powder will turn the purple cabbage indicator? I think it will be still purple or it will be red again.

Why do you think this? Because washing powder is alkaline.

Reflection:

Were your answers right or wrong? Some of it was right but not all of them.

What number do you think the white vinegar would be on the pH scale? pH 3 or 2

What number do you think the washing powder would be on the pH scale? pH 8.5 or 9.5

Update On Passion Projects!

As you know, for the past few weeks we have been working on our passion projects. which was posted last blog post. But I didn't tell you what the product was doing, but now it's time to reveal the product. We started making the product our product on Monday, November 19th. We had lots of ideas on what we were going to do with mozzarella, we practiced making one of the two ideas. The first one is the Burrata with mozzarella cheese sticks. Although, making the Burrata was a bit of fail and it became too rubbery. Axle and I tasted the Burrata and it was chewy, so we chose to make cheese sticks instead of Burrata.

Our second idea was making "PanDeSal" when we made the PanDeSal was made we added mango puree. It tasted good but it could have been added with milk to make it heavier. But anyways today in the passion project, we practiced making lots of dishes. We perfected making the cheese sticks, not only that but we also perfected the PanDeSal. After that and also perfected our "Synonym Rolls" we also practiced making the "Panna Cotta". We made three Pana Cottas, It came out fine but it was a bit too sweet. We were supposed to put the mango puree with the Pana Cotta, but Khush forgot to bring one.

Next passion project, we are going to make the mango shake. I will put some videos and pictures.

SLJ Practice: Let's Learn About Mexico!!

This week on cybersmart, we had to choose a country from these options. Canada, Austrailia, Chile, Mexico, Japan, Germany, England, United Arab Emirates, South Africa and last of all Malaysia. We are doing this because we are practicing for the summer learning journey. We could only choose one country and find out what is the name of the capital city, the population of the capital city is. etc. We had to also include 2 fun facts why we want to go to this country. I wanted to go to this country because I wanted to try some of their food and visit their outstanding landmarks.

Here are some facts about Mexico:

  • The capital city of Mexico is at Mexico City
  • The capital city of Mexico has a population of 21.2 million people.
  • The average temperature of Mexico is about 23°C
  • The capital city is located at the southern part of the country.
  • There is no official language in Mexico, however, most people speak Spanish.
Image result for mexico foodThe reason why I wanted to go to Mexico:

Image result for mexico landmarks
  • First of all, I wanted to try out their food.
  • Secondly, I wanted to go to the most famous landmarks in Mexico.
  • Thirdly,
But anyways I hope you learned something from this blog post.

Understanding Probability

This term (the last term) on maths we have been focusing on probability. Probability means there are no exact answers and it could go either way. When we started probability it was a bit easy, but when we progressed it got a bit harder. But learning probability was excellent. But anyways our teacher told us to make a DLO explaining what theoretical probability and experimental probability is. Here is my DLO explaining what it is about and help you understand more of what probability is.

Passion Projects!!

This Monday we started a new Kete topic called "Passion Projects." It is every Monday and Thursday, there were different topics to choose from. There was Maths Craft, Discovery, Stone Sculping, and lots more. We had to choose 3 different topics. My first choice was Stone Sculping, my second choice was Discovery. The last was sports. Then the day came, the first day of passion projects. I found out that I was in Discovery, I thought that I was going to be in Stone Sculping but I wasn't. But luckily I was with Axle, Khush, Ranit and other people. I felt relieved that I was with some of my friends, our teacher in discovery was Mr. Stock.  He was a funny science teacher. The four of us had different ideas on what we wanted to discover, here are some examples. Dissect an animal, make a telescope, make food, etc.

This Thursday, we did planning, ideas and lots of other stuff. My group and I wanted to make food, We wanted to know what dish goes well with mozzarella. We are still on work in progress and I will try to keep you updated with our new discovery. Bye!

A google a day keep you searching for days.

This week for cybersmart, we started to use the filters when you are searching by the teacher giving us the question. We had to use the filters to find out the answer. The main question was to find out the amphibious invention that was made. For an example a vehicle, if it can travel from land and water it is called an amphibious. The answer was an amphibious bicycle, it also turned out that the amphibious bicycle is not used very much now. We also learned to shorten our questions and make them on point.

This is what I found out:

  • It was man-powered
  • Capable of both land and water.
  • It uses air-filled floats.
  • It can fit a backpack.
  • Its speed is about 1.2

The pH Scale Quiz!

This week in science we were given a quiz about the pH Scale. I teamed up with Lars and we worked together during the quiz. Some of the questions were hard to answer but we were allowed to search up the questions to get the answer. It was a fun quiz to do and I have learned lots of things I haven't known before. I believe that Lars and I did pretty good, during the quiz. But the other questions were too hard for us, although Axle helped us at some of the questions. The answers are made bold and they have brackets around them. But anyways here is the quiz!

Task 1
Complete the quiz below

Neutral solutions have a pH of  (7)

What colour represents neutral on the pH scale (Green)

What is the range covered by the pH scale (0-14)

pH is a measure of (Hydrogen  ions) Oxygen Hydrogen Hydroxide

Acids and bases can combine to create water and salts (True)

Which is not a property of a base Sour taste Bitter taste Slippery (Sour taste)

There are a variety of strengths of acids and bases True False (True)

Vinegar is an example of a Strong base Strong Acid Weak Acid (Weak acid)

An acid’s pH is between (0-14)

What is true when acids and bases neutralize each other; (They react to neutralize then the  acid and base properties will produce a salt.)

Water is produced Salt is produced Both water and salt are produced (Salt)

Does baking soda have a pH of 9? Explain your answer (“Yes” it have a pH of 9, making it a mildly alkaline substance.) _________________________________________________________________________________

First DLO for maths!

This week our teacher made us make a DLO about subtracting. Our group started making DLO's for maths, It will be my first DLO for maths! But this DLO doesn't have me talking in it, It's because I don't have that much time. Although I put some explanation on how to get the answer from the question. The question was "Tania took 67 sour sweets to her netball game. At halftime, she gave out some and had 35 left. How many did she give away?" Here is a DLO to figure it out! Anyways I hope you enjoy!

Who is Austin Post?

In cybersmart we had to research the search bar, we had a question about who is Autin Post we searched in google, We took screenshots of what had come up. When I searched it on google it was Post Malone. I took screenshots of the search bar, natural results, and the filters. Here are the screenshots.

Natural Results

Bonus Question:

How did Austin Post (Post Malone) choose the name he is best known by?

According to Wikipedia "Post Malone" chose the name as his stage name, when he was 14 or 15. It was a rumor that his name was a reference to a professional basketball player, known as "Karl Malone". But he also used a name generator and it came up with Malone.

I hope you enjoy this blog post and I hope you learned something.

Fish in a tree (Novel)

On the last 3 terms, there was a book that we have been reading as a whole class. It was called "Fish in a tree", and today the 17th of October 2018, we have finally finished it! The author of this book was Lynda Mullaly Hunt.
Image result for fish in a tree
It started with a girl named "Ally Nickerson", she was bullied by her classmates because they think that Ally was dumb. But she actually had a problem called dyslexia, dyslexia a disorder that makes people have a hard time to read. Ally didn't know that she had this disorder.
She found Albert and Keisha which became her best friends, having friends gave Ally more confidence and less shy. Although there were some bullies named Jessica and Shay.

Their teacher Mr. Daniels kind of saw Ally's problem. He offered help from Ally and helped her how to read.

I recommend you to read this book if you have time. It has a theme of friendship and not giving up. I hope you enjoyed!

Alchemy Science!!

This week in science, we are learning about Alchemy. The aim is, "I want to find out how to turn a copper coin into gold". Before you can do this experiment, you will need a couple of equipment.

Equipment:

  • Copper Coin
  • Bunsen Burner
  • Tripod
  • Heat Mat
  • Gauze Mat
  • 50ml beaker
  • Scissor Tongs
  • Zinc Metal
  • Zinc Nitrate Solution
  • Safety Glasses
Now to do this experiment, you will need to put on your safety glasses. After that set up the heating equipment, add 50ml of Zinc Nitrate Solution. Then add the strips of Zinc Metal into the solution, heat up the beaker with a blue flame. When the solution is boiling, add the copper coin to the top of the Zinc Metal and wait for 10 minutes, by using scissor tongs, get the coin and wash it under water. Keep the coin to the scissor tongs and hold the coin in the blue flame. Then you should have a different coloured coin, our coin was a little gold but not that much... But maybe if we could have boiled it for a longer time and maybe put more Zinc Metal Strips, maybe we would have got a different result. Here are some pictures of the experiment. I hope you enjoyed!

Orana Park Visit!!

  • On Tuesday the 18th of September, the year 7s went to Orana Park. But some of the year 7s didn't go because of Koru games. We saw some very unique animals and what they can do, we also learned the word "HIPPO". The H stands for habitat loss, I stands for invasive species, P stands for pollution, the other P stands for population growth and finally, O stands for Overexploitation. We also saw some native animals, they were kiwis, keas, pukekos, Emos. Here are all the animals that we saw… Kiwis, Keas, Spider Monkeys, Lions, Tasmanian Devils, Tigers, Zebras, Buffalos, Cheetahs, Apes, Orangutans, Rhinos, Giraffes, Meerkats, Llamas, Wild Dogs, Emu, Addax. But that’s not all, our zoo teacher showed us some very wonderful things. For example the rhino horn and rhino teeth. This is what we all learned.

    • Image result for giraffe tongueGiraffes tongues changed colour to purple so it doesn’t get sunburnt, they can also kick in every direction.
    • Image result for rhino hornRhino horn is made out of the same material as our hair and toenails which is keratin.

    • The rhinos also eat the Giraffe’s grass at Orana Park so that the Giraffes won’t eat it because it will make them sick.

    • The Kiwis need strong legs to kick predators away from him/her.

    • Chocolates are toxic for Keas. Make sure that if there is a Kea on your car don’t drive yet but try to remove the kea.
    • If you drove while the kea is on your car it can fall off and could possibly die.
    • Zebras are born black and then develop their white stripes. Every zebra has a unique stripe.Image result for zebra baby black
    • Image result for kiwi with eggKiwis carry their eggs for 28 days. At 6 weeks old kiwis chicks leave their mum. Female Kiwis are larger to carry the eggs.
    • They have no tail and their wings are underdeveloped. They only eat insects that are alive.
    • Image result for tasmanian devils babiesTasmanian Devils are marsupials and carry their babies in their pouches like kangaroos. But only the strongest 4 would survive because the mum has only 4 teeth to feed on. They cling to each other’s backs to get carried.
    • Image result for lion roarLions have the loudest roar of the cats. It can be heard from 5 miles away.
