My Zombie Survival Rule!
Last week on our chemicals and chaos hurumanu, we were tasked to create a poster for survival throughout a zombie apocalypse. There was a total of 33 rules to survive, and I wanted to make a poster out of the 25th rule. The 25th rule was 'Shoot First", I wasn't positively sure what it implied but I thought it meant that to shoot first to check? Anyways I chose this rule because I found it to be the most important out of all 33, furthermore if you want to see the rest of the rules here is a link to the rest of the rules.

Dissolving Experiment - Hurumanu 4
Template for scientific report
In Science, whenever we do an experiment we will blog it.
The way that we blog an experiment is in the form of a scientific report.
The way that we blog an experiment is in the form of a scientific report.
Aim: My aim is to find out which one will dissolve faster, baking soda or salt.
Hypothesis: I think both of them will dissolve in the same rate, because their kind of the same, since you can also use the baking soda as salt.
Equipment: The equipment that is needed is; A 250 ml beaker, 100 ml measuring cylinder, salt, baking soda, a stirring rod, a science spatula and a ruler.
Method:
1. Fill up the beaker up to 100 ml of tap water.
2. When the beaker has been filled up to 100 ml of water, take your teaspoon and level it by running the ruler across the top of the teaspoon to make it even. Add the baking soda to the water.
3. Stir until all of the baking soda has dissolved .
4. Just keep repeating step 2 and 3, until no more baking soda will dissolve into the solution.
5. Record how many teaspoons of baking soda was added.
6. Repeat the method using salt.
Results:The results are that baking soda dissolved less solute but dissolved
the slowest, the salt dissolved more that the baking soda but dissolved fastest.

Discussion:
The baking soda dissolved less solute because it was more like chalky
or powdery which also makes it dissolve slower. The salt was for fine
and not that powdery and I think that's what made it dissolve faster.
Conclusion: In conclusion the hypothesis was not correct and that salt dissolves faster than baking soda. It needs less teaspoons of baking soda to saturate the water rather than salt.

Year 9 - Goal Setting: My goals for this year!
At the end of last year, I made goals for myself to complete, and I would proudly say that I have achieved the majority of them. But now it's a new year, which means that new goals to achieve this year. Anyways our teacher has tasked us to make a blogpost to share what our goals are for this year. Aside from that here are my academic goals for this year. My goal is to do my best on all subjects and topics that I chose for year 9, and keep focused and complete the task that is given and finish it on time. I also want to be better at communicating with others and being confident sharing my work. Another goal that I have is to take the opportunities that are available and try it out, instead of only taking the opportunities that is sport related.
I also have some learning work ons:

My About Me Poem!
This week the teachers gave us a task to do, so that they can learn more about us. The task they gave us was an 'All About Me Poem.' We had to answer guidelines which would define our personalities, and what we like to do. However we first had to make a draft of our poem, and then copy it on a piece of paper. We were allowed to decorate our poem with drawing and colours. But I made my poem simple by just colouring it. Anyways, here is the finished product.

The Best Day of the Summer Holiday!
During my summer holiday, we didn't do much of going out somewhere like out of town. We pretty much just stayed at home and rest for a few weeks, it also meant that we could stay up for a little longer, and stay asleep as long as we like. Although during the summer holiday I pretty much only played video games and watch anime, it wasn't too boring because it's what I liked to do. I also sometimes played some basketball with my brothers at, we go to Wycola Park by biking.
Anyways, the 'best' day of the summer holiday for me was when we went to Hamner Springs. We went to Hamner Springs because, we heard that there was a new slide there and we really wanted to try it out. When we got there we waited a few minutes, maybe around 40-50 minutes, to wait for it to open. After that, it finally opened, we got our tickets and entered in. I immediately started looking for the new slide, but first we had to put our stuff somewhere. We tried finding a spot where we would be near the new slide. Then there it was, it was really huge and it looked quite terrifying. I was really excited to try it out so I put on sunblock and quickly went on the line. It wasn't that long of a line yet, since we got here early. Then I told my older brother to go with my younger brother first so that he can have a turn first. The slide also required two people in 1 tube.
I went out to see when it was almost their turn to see how they would react. When it was their turn I hear my younger yell during the drop and that was the part I really got enthusiastic. They finally finished and my older brother and I went back on the line, and we grabbed the tube and went up the stairs. We reached the very top and placed the tube on the water. We waited for the green light and then we went. At first it was dark then an opening appeared and the sun was in my face, suddenly a drop was near and that's where I got kind of scared. We went down really fast and went back up in the slanted wall like structure, it was really fun and enjoyable.
We stayed them for about an 5-6 hours and then we went back home, the slide was really, really fun. Now I want to go back and try it again soon.
